3. Chairman’s Report
“The population of Little Canfield has increased by 22% in the last twelve months, the start of our Parish possibly doubling in size. Will this bring benefits and a better quality of life to existing residents? My views are mixed. On one hand we may find more people willing to join in community projects and their organizing, but on the other hand will Priors Green become a stand alone Community? What ever happens, I feel we do need to be proactive in planning our future?
Priors Green has taken the major space on the PC agenda over the last year with the volume of planning applications coming from Countryside as well as island sites causing great concern to current home owners in Warwick, Hamilton and Thornton roads.
Land Securities have applied for development on our village hall site with the backing of the parish.
All Saints Church has the go ahead by way of a Faculty for improvements to the inside of the Church.
Liaison meetings with Edwards Waste have proved useful in that our concerns are addressed regularly and we are kept informed as to future uses for the site.

Lesley Gilman has done a sterling job on the Parish Rights of Way, reminding landowners of their obligation and organising Parish walks which is an excellent way for the community to discuss current issues.
The recent proposals from BAA for a second runway with all its ramifications have increased our fear of vast change coming to our community. This is before we know the outcome of the appeal against UDC refusing permission for the airport to expand to35 million passengers per year.
As a PC of such a small community, our workload seems to be disproportionate so may I take this opportunity to thank Rosemary our Clark, parish councillors, district councillors and Essex county councillor for their efforts over the last year.”
.4. Other Business
Cllr. Fulcher agreed that parish business had increased a great deal in recent months, particularly for the Chairman, and proposed that a vote of thanks should be expressed to Cllr. Wooding for his hard work. This was agreed unanimously.
The meeting closed at 8.05 p.m.
